An All-Out Arms Race Takes Hold Of Cybertron!

The Combiner Wars Loom…

San Diego, CA (February 5, 2015) – The biggest TRANSFORMERS publishing event of the year kicks off this March when Cybertron becomes the battleground for the COMBINER WARS! An all-star creative team is bringing along fan-favorite characters and all-new dangers to this battle royale that will shake both factions to their core.

The “Opening Salvo” is fired in TRANSFORMERS #39, and the war begins in earnest in the debut issue of the brand-new WINDBLADE series from the acclaimed creative team of Mairghread Scott and Sarah Stone. The shaky peace between the Autobots and Decepticons is threatened when Cybertron’s leader, Starscream, stands against Optimus Prime and raises an unstoppable army of Combiners, threatening Windblade’s long-lost homeworld..

“We're blowing the TRANSFORMERS universe wide open with this series: showcasing new characters and new worlds in a battle with some of the biggest 'bots you've ever seen,” said WINDBLADE writer, Scott. “Anyone who thinks they know what to expect from a Transformers event will have to think again.”

The ongoing TRANSFORMERS series written by John Barber welcomes PRIMACY artist Livio Ramondellion to the series for this epic arc. “From day one of this series,” says Barber, “we’ve been seeding the mystery and power of Combiners—multiple Cybertronians who form together into bigger, more powerful holes.

Starscream realizes he needs one of his own to protect Cybertron… but why stop at one Combiner—or one world?”

The arms-race of Combiners will bring fan-favorite TRANSFORMERS characters to the pages of IDW comics for the first time ever—and introduce a new Combiner guaranteed to melt the internet. Featuring standard covers by Casey W. Coller and subscription covers by Ramondelli, the epic COMBINER WARSevent will be an integral part of Hasbro’s 2015TRANSFORMERS: GENERATIONS COMBINER WARS toy line, reaching a massive fan-base and will be supported across multi-media platforms.

If retailers order 250 copies each of TRANSFORMERS#39 and TRANSFORMERS: WINDBLADE #1, they’ll get two special covers by Travis Sengaus depicting that retailer’s store being protected by Superion (on TRANSFORMERS #39) and destroyed by Devastator (on TRANSFORMERS: WINDBLADE #1). And best of all… those two covers COMBINE into one mega-image!

Steal the Divine with Archaia’s New Sci-fi Series ‘HaloGen’ @BoomStudios

February 4, 2015 (Los Angeles, Calif.) - This March, Archaia, an imprint of award-winning publisher BOOM! Studios, is pleased to announce the new limited series HaloGen from Josh Tierney (Spera), Afu Chan (Spera), and Giannis Milonogiannis (Prophet, Old City Blues). The series will be written by Tierney and illustrated by Chan. Previously collaborators on the Eisner Award-nominated series Spera, the trio has come together to create a new sci-fi series in the vein of Prophet, Rocket Girl, and The Fifth Element.

“Josh, Afu, and Giannis have already proven they know how to create sprawling worlds and well-rounded characters, and now they’re taking us into the deep reaches of space for a unique adventure,” said BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon. “You’ll meet Rell this March in the pages of HaloGen, and her story is a very cool sci-fi thriller.”

In HaloGen, there’s a rumor on Cityship Q that the gigantic body of a dead god was found floating in space. Rell, an agent working for the HaloGen organization, is tasked with finding the location of the god and retrieving it by any means necessary. Using her ability to form hyper-realistic holograms, Rell is about to take on the first mission she might not be able to finish.

WARZONE! Rages on with "SECRET WARS 2099"!

WARZONE! Rages on with SECRET WARS 2099!

New York, NY—February 3rd, 2015— This May, when everything ends, it’s time to go back to the future! Behold Secret Wars’ WARZONE! and prepare for the ride of your life in SECRET WARS 2099 #1 – the newest Secret Wars series from the acclaimed Spider-Man 2099 creative team of Peter David and Will Sliney!

The patch-work surface of Marvel’s Secret Wars has now merged with Marvel 2099 and a new landscape has emerged as futuristic versions of your favorite characters, never-before-seen, make their first appearance and fold into the oncoming battle! Prepare to meet – the AVENGERS 2099 – Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye and Hercules! But in a world where megacorporations rule with an iron fist – what room is there for Earth’s Mightiest Heroes?

“2099 has always been a bit dystopian, with corporate America out of control and heroes few and far between. For the first time, we’re going to see how that affects the Avengers,” says series Editor Devin Lewis. “What do the Avengers look like and stand for in a world where greed is the accepted ‘good’? How will that affect their values or outlooks? And, is there anyone left from the old days who still believe in the ideals of the Heroic Age?

The future stage has been forged and the Avengers are set to defend those who cannot protect themselves. But just who is the mysterious force opposing 2099’s Mightiest Heroes? “The group that chooses to stand against the Avengers is made up of the last people anyone would expect,” proclaims Lewis.

This May, jump back to the year 2099 as Marvel’s Secret Wars incorporates the cyber punk dystopia in SECRET WARS 2099!
